In the story, Mocking Jay, by Suzane Collins, the main protagonist is a girl named Katniss Everdeen. Katniss Everdeen is Important to the to the role in the book because she has been the protagonist in the past two books, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire. The reason on why she is also in the book so far, is because she is explain what had happened to her district, it had been bombed by the Capitol and she is held responsible for it. Throughout this part of the story she is dynamic at the moment. She feels blamed for being the reason on why her District was left in ashes but is still brave and willing to do what it takes to rebel against the Capitol. On page 8, she, being Katniss, explains roughly that they had to evecuate to a long lost District, District 13, in order to survive on the dead District 12 and how this personally affected her due to the fact that she had been the reason on why that had happened. According to paragraph 2&3, "Every single refugee had been granted automatic citizenship by the authorities of 13","Still I hate them. But, of course I hate almost everybody.Myself more than anyone".
Stated on the last paragraph on chapter 1, " Positioned on my my dresser, that white-as-snow rose is a personal message to me. It speaks of unfinished business. It whispers,I can find you. I can reach you. Perhaps I am watching you now." In other words the Capitol's president, President snow, is still trying to get revenge on Katniss for what she did, broke the rules of the Hunger Games.

In the story Mocking Jay by Susanne Collins, there were many times where the main characters use literary elements and devices. Foreshadowing is probably the most common type of element that was being shown throughout the different chapters of the story. An example of this can be found at the end of almost every chapter. For example, "They look relieved. They believe us. No one mentions Peeta." This is an example of foreshadowing because foreshadowing means to predict a future event. In this event Peeta is giving advice to Katniss through a T.V commercial by making her be sure who she is teaming with to go against the Capitol despite the fact that they are far apart. This is vital to foreshadowing in the story because it shows that they are hiding something major from Katniss' allies which can cause to a problem later in the story. Another literary element is being used in the story is simile. "I crouch down and take her icy hands, which clutch mine like vises". This is a simile because it is comparing her hands' grip to vises' grip.

In the story Mocking Jay by Susanne Collins, patterns are being shown throughout the story. During the beginning Katniss has faith in the Rebels to go against the Capitol and gives them her trust and after a while she decides that she doesn't really trust the rebels of District 13. After this turn she decides to put her faith in the rebels hands in order to kill president snow this can be found throughout the story. For example,"But the truth is, I don't trust the rebels or Plutarch or Coin," This means that Katniss wasnt sure whether to trust the Rebels or not. Another example of doubt is when Katniss shows that she want to kill President Snow when they capture him during war.
Friday December 2nd Reading log#6 topic choice#1 charactersIn the story titled "Eggs", by Jerry Spinelli the two main antagonists are Primrose and David. They are important and vital to the story because they introduce the plot and the setting in the story. David is a curious 9 year old boy who seems to not listen to directions very well. Primrose is a self-counsious girl who is aware of the conditions she is living in. A jeep truck. She id introduced as a main character at the beginning of the story. David id a wandering boy who is also adventurous and mischievous. During this segment of the story, the characters seem to be static as in no changed seen from the beginning to where we are now. There is not much change being seen over these two spans of time."David had kicked the door and got out. His father had told him to go, but he hadnt said anything about sticking too his grandmother". This shows that David is mischivious and not aware of the actions he is taking. "
